International Space University Offers MBA Degree in Aeronautics
Who says aeronautics isn’t business at all? The amazing fact is all global operations, government or private entity, spends and needs profit in order to survive in the ever competitive world.
The International Space University which was founded in 1987 by Peter Diamandis is offering masters degree program in Space Management and Space Studies as well as a non-degree granting Space Studies Program. ISU is determined to provide an interdisciplinary, intercultural and international environment for study and training for Space Professional.
However, ISU have dig further with the aeronautics and space exploration field and discovered at the end of the day business matters as important as engineering and science. “It’s all about cost of procurement and looking at the revenue that is going to be generated,” According to Tim Craine, space commerce director for the island’s government. “Rocket science is definite but at the end of the day, financial operation counts”.
As the space sector gets commercialized and fast evolving into different markets, the thorough understanding of financial operations and efficient management of resources is as significant as the scientific and engineering skills. The largest government sole NASA have been dominated by private businesses and enterprises today. And commercial space tourism is expected to boom for the upcoming generations with the demand for satellite and navigational services across the country.
The MBA degree program have been enrolled by pioneering class of 12 students, mostly in their 40’s which recently advanced their positions into management roles. The graduates earned their degrees last November 19, 2010. The MBA course has been broken into five-one or two-week modules, held over 18 months, in different locations.
The course covers partly covers the politics of the aerospace industry, international law regarding the use of space, and financial and insurance issues of the largest and most expensive projects of humanity which serves no room even for the smallest error.
