Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing
As the recession period slowly come to an end, the nursing environment –according to the experts –will have favorable conditions; the need for state nurses is also expected to be higher for the upcoming years.
In solution to the evidently rising nurse demand, the University of Nevada in collaboration with St. Rose Dominican Hospitals has launched the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
As a continuing education program, professionals and career searchers which possess bachelor’s degree will be given the chance to become registered nurses in just 14 months. The accelerated program combines online education, practical laboratory studies and clinical rotations held in St. Rose Dominican Hospitals.
UN ABSN classes will commence this October –fully equipped with highly functioning and state of the art facilities. Davis, President of St. Dominican Hospitals looks forward for compassionate nurses as product of such initiative.
The education program has been recently designed to meet the time-efficient needs of adult learners and to compensate the critical need for healthcare workers of the state. According to the Nevada labor department, about 5,500 nurses will needed by 2016; they also anticipate a 37 percent demand growth contributing to favorable employment rate compared to the years of run-down.
Experts say that the healing economy means soaring of nursing demand; this is because nurses who have experienced the economic exhaustion will retire while full time nurses –in struggle for financial support for their family –will shift to part time schedules. Patients will also seek the best medical care which was crippled due to tight savings. The department predicts a million nurse deficits by the year 2020.
Meanwhile, UN ABSN and St. Rose will launch the marketing scheme “Come Explore Nursing” –and education fair on August 31 from 8-11 am; 4-7 pm held at St. Rose Dominican Hospitals, San Martin Campus conference center and 8280 West Warm Spring Road, Las Vegas.
