81-year-old Hurdles Adult Education Program
Despite his age an 81-year-old student of an adult education program in Naples is going to graduate from the said program. This means this graduate is able to hurdle all the requirements set by the school. This is also good news since it has proven once more that age is not a hindrance to education.
Many people with old age already thought finishing their college education is already impossible with their commitments from work, family and all other factors affecting their dreams to finish college education.
During the said graduation in Naples, at least 60 adult students will be graduating and they will be honored in a fitting ceremony. They have shown their persistence and determination at the Adult and Community Education GED graduation rites. The venue for the special ceremony will be at the Golden Gate High School auditorium, from 7pm onwards.
According to the report, the GED is officially known as Florida High School Diploma. It was also earned by the former Delaware and New Jersey governors, the late Peter Jennings, a former ABC news anchor and the United States former surgeon general.
Jeff Lytle, Naples Daily News editor for the editorial page, will be this year’s keynote speaker and he will deliver the commencement address during the graduation ceremony awaited by the graduates, their relatives and friends.
Career education is always open to everyone who still dreams to get hold of their dream diploma. It doesn’t mean if you are already in the old age or not. The most important is that you enroll, follow the requirements, report to class everyday and that’s it. If you do this you have really great chances of getting hold of that very elusive college diploma.
The graduation of an 81-year-old student only shows that education does not discriminate everyone. It is just there waiting for everyone – rich or poor – who wanted to acquire education.
