The number of online education providers mounted in the last 5 years and the capability of pedagogical institutions of delivering topnotch education has been questioned. This is because many traditional universities shifted for online education aiming only for profitability.

Pertaining to the performance of most online universities and online program-offering colleges, rankings have been the basis for overall university competency. While traditional standings are often viewed on the physical characteristics of a university such as; campus environment, buildings and research grants the applicability of these standards upon online education is totally inconsiderable.

The ranker have been existing since the year 2000 wherein most researchers never step foot on online education. According to him, online university rankings are based on the faculty’s capability to deliver first-rate online education to the students; the students in return must show laudable absorption of the online coursework.

Justifiably, Diulus has a point; he’s an expert in the field. And considering that a large number of traditional universities today have made education online as an alternative for industry survival. But for some, shifting wasn’t advantageous; it only led to university closure. The reason why? These universities never embraced Dr. Diulus’ vision of first-rate online education; the forty year-experienced faculties know its necessary but were not motivated to pursue the required excellence.

According to Diulus, the hardships upon holding the copyright of their online courses and the confinements in the design as well as delivery of instruction are a great boundary for exercising academic freedom for optimal performance; it’s the very reason for mediocreness concerning online education teaching.

Meanwhile, Diulus ranks Cappella University, Grand Canyon University, and the University of Phoenix above all online universities. He points out that these universities exhibit academic excellence and carves the future of online pedagogy.
