Sloan Consortium is a network of people, institutions and even organizations that is quite committed to have a quality online learning that continually taking its lead for integrating online education towards the mainstream for higher education. In that case, $4 million grant that came from Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the consortium will transit to its member in order to sustain a non profit organization and will establish permanent presence for online learning. Sloan Foundation and be continued through the Sloan Consortium that the increasing demand of this knowledge and training in online learning can ever be satisfied.

For nearly two decades of their pioneering work of online education, this Alfred P. Sloan Foundation just recently announced of its major grant program for online degree that resulted for achieving its goal of supporting the online education. Going back in the year 1992, the foundation had already invested about $80 million of its online education programs to the different universities throughout the nation with its goal of making the higher education very much accessible and quite affordable for people, anyone, anywhere, at any time. With that, the Sloan Consortium are quite poised to build this Foundation’s Effort according to Bruce Chaloux who is now the President of Sloan Consortium in order to continue pursuing its objectives for quality, scope and breath that establish by the Foundation and be entirely guided for goal development and growth.

The most recent national survey of Sloan Consortium got a result that there are about 3.9 million students in the United States are in education online rather than be present to the different public or private schools in the country especially in this year based on the enrollees of online schools in the country. Sloan Consortium assists in promoting online learning. There are already about 20, 000 people and 1,500 colleges that Sloan Consortium have visited in order to conduct different lectures, surveys, research studies , and even teachings or workshops about online education.
