Education Online Network Strengthened in Ohio
A top education executive in Ohio is now banking on the proposal to expand its education network with the availability of the federal and state education funds.
Chancellor Eric Fingerhut, Ohio Board of Regents announced over the weekend for the availability of funds for the literacy education for adults. There were already two proposals that seek bids from education agencies in the local scene. This includes both private and government agencies as well as community-based organizations that are interested on the project. Others in the list that had also shown interest on the project were the volunteer literacy organizations libraries, public housing authorities, institutions of higher education and other agencies that are considered non-profit.
The major goal of the requests for proposals (RFPs) is to create a network of providers for literacy programs that would also offer opportunities for English language acquisition, post-secondary education, general educational development (GED) and other kinds of education that is basically related to employment. The accredited online degree program is also being considered to be part of the program.
Fingerhut wants that classes for both online and offline in the college and university campuses shall be offered in a variety of formats so that many students can be benefited including international adult students in many schools world wide.
He said doing this would help Ohio to compete with leading educational nations as well as it would also improve the educational attainment of people living in Ohio. He said with the transfer of adult workforce into proper education and training, the ABLE programs will be playing major roles in this part of Ohio. The adult network education program should be working properly so that success will be attained in the process.
Adult Basic and Literacy Education (ABLE)
There is now the ABLE Instructional Grants that will help and assist the adults in developing their literacy skills. This is very necessary in for the future employment of people involve in the program.
